The thickness of boxboard in our essentials range is lower than that of our luxury collection, but these boxes are anything but boring - the clean lines and matt finishes create an effortlessly elegant look that lets your jewellery do the talking without any extra fuss.

How is box thickness measured? At Tiny Box Company we use microns, also known as micrometres, and quite simply one micron is equal to one-thousandth of a millimetre (so 1,000 microns = 1 mm).

We also use gsm, which stands for grams per square metre and refers to the weight of the paper or card. There’s no direct correlation between the two, but generally speaking, cardboard with a higher micron value will also have a higher gsm!

What about the inserts? Many of the gift boxes in our essentials range include the same colour card inserts, perfect for holding your jewellery. This also means these boxes are plastic-free and fully recyclable after use - so you know you’re always making a sustainable choice!
