'Tis the season: Top Christmas colour palettes It’s the most wonderful time, of the year - is it that time of year already?? It won't be long until we hear Christmas songs everywhere we go, and while it may be a tad too soon to start playing them in the office (I'd personally be all for it), it's not too early for you to be thinking about your festive packaging. But if you haven't started yet then have no fear - we'll help you avoid a Nightmare Before Christmas by breaking down some colour palettes...From classic reds and greens to bolder blues and pinks, or a more minimalist kraft palette, there’s loads of different tones and shades to choose from, and plenty of mixing and matching to be done too if you like. Dive in and take a closer look here! 1. Classic Reds and Greens Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose... Okay, I'll stop with the Christmas songs, but when you think about Christmas colours, what comes to mind? Red, right? And green? They're easily the most classic choices when it comes to Christmas decorations - and while other trending colours may change over time, I think it’s safe to say that, unless Santa himself decides to change up his wardrobe, these classic colours are here to stay. It’s well worth incorporating these colours into your seasonal packaging - either with the usual bright shades, or you could shift towards some deeper, richer tones like claret red and forest green. These can evoke a lovely sense of warmth and nostalgia (who doesn't love that?), while also adding a touch of sophistication to your range.(Both radiant red and astro dust also just happen to be trending colours, as are forest green and cyber lime, so there's plenty of options to include, whether you're looking at gift boxes, bags, advent calendars etc, or accessories like tissue paper and ribbon, or all of the above!)Green tones also have the added benefit of being closely tied to eco-friendly packaging, so why not take advantage of this colour palette to promote your sustainable products this Christmas? You could even take a more earthy route with your chosen colours for max environmentalness - more on this a bit further down…Colour Palette: Red, Green 2. Metallic Golds and Silvers We all love a bit of sparkle, right? I know I do, and Christmas is a great time to add a bit of shine to your packaging. Gold and silver are timeless choices that, to quote Taylor Swift, never go out of style, and look great on simple black and white packaging. Add some shimmer and shine (see the gift tag above!) with foil printing - either pre-printed or personalised just for your brand - to create a sleek and minimalist look that's perfect for high-end and luxury products. (Or, you could add some metallic foil to some green or red boxes or bags to combine these two colour palettes and elevate the festiveness even more!)Design ideas to make your gift boxes and bags extra Christmassy include bauble, bells, and reindeer, or why not dabble with some pretty gold stars, or snowflakes? See more on going for a winter wonderland palette a bit further down...Colour Palette: Gold, Silver, Black, White 3. Playful Blues and Oranges "But what about if I'm looking for a more fun, playful vibe for my packaging?", I hear you ask. Well, if your products are perhaps aimed at a younger market, or your brand just likes a bit of whimsy, you could consider a palette with some light or navy blues, pinks, and oranges. These inject a bit of fun while serving as a break from tradition, but still keeping up the Christmassy vibe if you incorporate some snowy designs or bright and colourful baubles - see the advent calendar below! In fact, fondant pink and apricot crush orange are also super trendy, as are elemental blue and cobalt blue - so again, there’s a few different options to try and incorporate this playful vibe into your festive packaging while staying bang on trend.Christmas after all is about joy and excitement, and this palette is all about embracing the joy of the season and making the unwrapping experience as exciting as the gift itself!Colour Palette: Blue, Pink, Orange, Green 4. Winter White with Blues and Greens Ohhh the weather outside is frightful... (sorry, another Christmas song) - but snowy packaging is still pretty! We're all used to seeing wintry landscapes during Christmas time, even if we don't quite always get that weather in the UK, so why not Let It Snow this festive season? The vibe we’re going for here is a peaceful winter wonderland, with frosty blues and turquoise thrown in.How about using soft, icy blues, or a sage green, combined with crisp white? Think of a design like freshly fallen snow on a Christmas tree, or some snowflakes dotted around, adding a bit of Elsa's magic in a very simple but still pretty way. Or maybe there could be an appearance from good ol' Frosty the Snowman? This palette is particularly suited for products that aim to evoke freshness or a sense of tranquillity - we’ve actually got a handy blog on colour psychology and its impact on packaging, why not give it a read while you're here?Colour Palette: White, Blue, Green 5. Earthy Kraft and Greens Going back to what we said earlier about green being great for sustainable and eco-friendly products - why not take this even further with your Christmas packaging? Sustainability is continuing to influence design trends, and this year has certainly been no exception - with earthy krafty colours reflecting a growing consumer preference for eco-friendly and minimalist designs. You know what they say, right - less is more! These colours are inspired by the beauty of nature and the desire for a simpler, more mindful holiday season. So in packaging, you could use kraft paper or recycled materials in shades of soft browns and muted greens to show off just how committed you are to sustainability. Gold foil can again add a festive touch while maintaining the overall earthy aesthetic, or you could add some ribbon with a nice Christmassy design to make even the simplest kraft box look on point for the season.Colour Palette: Kraft, Green There we have it! Christmas colour trends offer so so many possibilities for creating stunning, memorable packaging that really resonates with your customers. Whether you opt for the traditional warmth of reds and greens, the chill of frosty blues, or the playful energy of pastels, there’s something to suit every brand - so while you're here make sure to browse our Christmas collection to find just what you're looking for, and have a read of our blog here on crafting your Christmas packaging range.   Shop Christmas Packaging Now

Nature to nostalgia: Spice up your packaging this autumn Nature to nostalgia: Spice up your packaging this autumn Summer's coming to an end... autumn is in the air… soon the leaves will fall and the air will get colder and rainier. And soon we’ll be wearing thick jumpers with comfy blankets wrapped around us… (Or I will be anyway… can I start now?)With all this comes the opportunity to give your packaging a seasonal movie-style makeover - whether it’s an all out new haircut, colour, and style, or just a fringe, it can be nice to just mix it up! So are you gearing up for holiday promotions (Halloween will creep up on us…), or do you simply want to give your packaging a more subtle autumnal vibe? Either way, here’s how to make your packaging stand out for the season! Go for earthy, warm palettes Nothing says autumn like burnt oranges, deep reds, dark greens, and krafty browns. It’s all about invoking feelings of warmth, comfort, and nostalgia... marathoning the Harry Potter movies yet again while drinking hot chocolate - or whatever it is you get up to on a rainy day...Fitting these colours into your packaging is an easy win - whether you go all out with bold new boxes or just a small update with some ribbon. Design ideas could be a kraft box with a gold foil leaf - in fact foil printing is a great way to add an autumn vibe in a really pretty way, whether you're printing leaves or just your logo! Not ready to abandon your brand colours? No worries! You can add lil touches without a complete overhaul. Think about adding accessories like tissue paper, ribbon, or seasonal stickers to give your existing range that lovely autumn glow-up. Feeling eco-friendly? Being sustainable is key to businesses big and small - and guess what? Autumn is the perfect time to lean into eco-friendly packaging that aligns with the season’s earthy vibes. Customers love knowing that their fave businesses care about the planet as much as they do, so swapping to recycled paper, cardboard, and biodegradable packaging is another big win, and can last waay beyond the season. And there’s just something so naturally appealing about kraft paper and twine… especially as we edge closer and closer to wrapping up gifts and singing Christmas songs… (Is it too early?)Reusable containers like tins and bags that can be repurposed are also gaining popularity. Not only do they support sustainability, but they also provide added value to the customer - if they're anything like me they'll want to keep pretty packaging as it'll just be too nice to toss, so it's yet another win-win! Try some bold lettering Typography plays a big role in packaging, and with bold fonts and vintage-inspired lettering becoming more and more popular, why not embrace it for autumn? Retro-inspired fonts are another nod to nostalgia, and, when combined with some fall imagery, remind us of simpler times and classic autumn activities. Think imagery like having a nice cuppa or strolling through a pumpkin patch and deciding what design to carve... up for making a jack-o'-lantern this year, anyone? When combined with a warm colour palette and those earthy materials we talked about earlier, bold typography can make a simple packaging design feel way more dynamic and memorable. Whether it’s a statement on a coffee bag or on a candle box, it can really set the tone for the season! And embrace the holidays! Offering limited-edition autumn packaging also creates excitement and urgency around your products. I know it does for me anyway, because who doesn’t love the idea of snagging something exclusive? And if you offer subscription boxes, consider creating an autumn-themed edition that comes with custom autumn packaging. Not only does it create a buzz, but it gives customers something to look forward to every season! Then of course there's the autumn holidays.... Halloween is just around the corner, fitting in perfectly with the orange tones of the season. Embrace this with some spooky bats, scary spiders, or other creepy crawlies printed on your packaging - whether it’s a box, bag, or a sticker. And it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas... Going for a krafty palette with a bit of foil printed ribbon is great for the festive season - find out more on Christmas colour palettes here! Autumn packaging solutions Spice up your life, and your brand's packaging, with some autumn vibes and make a lasting impression on your customers. So grab a cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or other beverage of choice (pumpkin spice lattes, anyone?), and get inspired!   Shop Autumn Packaging
Nature to nostalgia: Spice up your packaging this autumn
Why small businesses should be getting ready for Christmas… now! We know, we know… the sun is just about peeking out from behind the clouds, the BBQ’s still warm, and your flip-flops haven’t even made it to the back of the wardrobe yet. But here’s the thing: for small businesses, Christmas is a little bit like an elaborate dinner party - you want to look effortlessly prepared, but that only happens if you’ve been quietly chopping, stirring, and tasting for weeks in advance (if you’re anything like me, anyway). So, pop the kettle on, and let’s talk about why starting your Christmas prep early could be the best gift you give yourself this year. 1. Beat the December panic parade There’s nothing festive about frantically printing labels at 11pm or realising your bestseller is out of stock mid-December. Starting now means you can pace yourself, avoid supplier delays, and actually enjoy the run-up to Christmas without that “I’ve-forgotten-something” feeling hanging over you. 2. Get your packaging perfect Your product might be the star of the show, but the packaging? That’s the opening act - and we all know first impressions matter. Whether it’s gorgeous cotton gift bags, pretty printed ribbon, or stunning advent calendars, planning early gives you time to design packaging that feels intentional, not last-minute. 3. Spread out the costs Stocking up on materials, products, and postage supplies all at once in November is like trying to eat your entire Christmas dinner in one bite - it’s overwhelming and a bit uncomfortable. Ordering in stages now means less strain on your budget and more room for those little extras that make your customer experience magical. 4. Plan your promotions (and make them fun!) When you’re not under pressure, you’ve got time to dream up playful, personal promotions your customers will love - whether that’s advent calendars, mystery gift wraps, or handwritten notes in every order. A little extra thought goes a long way toward making customers feel special… and loyal. 5. Give yourself the gift of time Early prep means you can take Christmas week off knowing your orders are sorted and your customers are happy. Imagine: mulled wine in hand, tree lights twinkling, no emergency post office runs. That’s the Christmas spirit. Final tip: Think of Christmas as a marathon, not a sprint Small businesses thrive when they have space to be creative and personal - two things that get squeezed when you’re rushing. Starting now gives you time to do things properly, with less stress and more sparkle. So… dust off the tinsel, get your boxes in order, and remember: a small box can make a BIG impact (trust us, we know).   Shop Christmas Packaging Now

Brand your packaging online at Tiny Box Company Create stunning packaging like this! Foil and digital printing... they both look great, and do wonders for elevating your packaging. In fact, I could go on for ages about how great they are, but that's not actually the point of this blog. (Although if you want to read about the great benefits of branding your packaging, check out more blogs at the bottom of this page!) Right now, we're talking about how easy it is to order branded packaging online, so let's get straight into it. (Note: this example is a foil branded order, digital is mentioned a bit further down.) How to brand your packaging online Step 1: Click the 'Branding' tab! We have a wide array of products available at Tiny Box Company - from gift boxes and bags to accessories like ribbon and stickers - many of which can be printed on. These products will have a 'Branding' tab - simply click that to get started on your branding journey! Step 2: Tick the box just below 'Brand Me' You'll then be asked if you've had that logo printed with us before. Why do we ask this? Well, if you have, and the logo and size haven't changed, we can use the same print plate as your previous order! You'll however need a new plate if it's a different size logo - the price of this will be shown if you click this option. > Err, what's a print plate and why do I need one? Print plates are required for foil printed orders - find out why here! Step 3: Fill in the details about your logo If you click 'Yes, it's the same logo on the same product', you'll be asked for your last order number, the finish you'd like (metallic, matte, gloss, lustre, or satin), colour, and orientation (portrait or landscape). Then, you can add any notes and the quantity you'd like (just FYI, there is a minimum order quantity of 100 for foil printing). If you click 'Yes, it's the same logo but a different size for this product', we'll need the same info as above, as well as the size you'd like this time! Select small, medium, or large, then let us know the width and height. (But don't worry, this can be adjusted at mockup stage if needed!) If it's a 'No, I'm new to branding at Tiny Box', we'll need the logo size, then the actual logo itself (uploaded as either an ai or pdf)! Then it's the finish, colour, orientation, any notes, and quantity! Step 4: Add to basket! There we are! Easy, simple branding.  But what about digital printing? Good question, and you're right, we also offer digital printing at Tiny Box Company. It's pretty much the same process, but when you order this online we need your file and its orientation/centre, as well as the quantity. Why? Because digital printing doesn't require a print plate, and we can print in full colour (so we'll match the colours in the file you uploaded!). Find out more about how it all works in our digital printing blog here. How gorgeous are these printed gift bags? So, are you ready to create beautiful branded packaging online? How to optimise for AIEO in 2025: A guide for small businesses You might have noticed. Search is changing so fast that it’s hard to keep up. Google is still important, but it’s no longer the only way to get search traffic to your website. In 2025, your customers are just as likely to discover you through a chatbot, a voice search, or a smart assistant as they are through a standard search engine results page. That shift means it’s time to think beyond traditional SEO. Enter AIEO: Artificial Intelligence Experience Optimisation. AIEO is a practical way to ensure your business is easily found, understood, and trusted across the AI-driven web. If SEO was about ranking on Google, AIEO is about being the best answer, no matter the platform. Here’s how to do it. 1. Make your business machine-readable AI systems need structure. That means adding schema markup to your website to help bots interpret who you are, what you offer, and where you’re based. It’s not as technical as it sounds. Use Google’s Structured Data Markup Helper or a plugin like Schema Pro to add key details: business name, address, services, opening hours, and FAQs. Stick to the basics at first. LocalBusiness, Product, and FAQ schema are the most useful for most small firms. This data feeds into AI answers and rich results, so if you’re not using it, you may be invisible to voice assistants and AI-powered search tools. 2. Update your online profiles everywhere AIs pull information from across the web, not just from your site. So if your Google Business Profile, LinkedIn page, directory listings or social media profiles are out of date, you’re sending mixed signals. Make sure your business name, address, phone number, website, and opening hours are identical across every platform. Consistency boosts your credibility in the eyes of both humans and machines. 3. Write clear, specific content that answers questions AI tools scan websites to extract answers. If your content is vague or too salesy, it won’t be picked up. Think about what your customers actually ask. Then write plain answers to those questions. Include headings that match the search queries you want to show up for. Structure your content so it’s easy to quote or summarise. That means short paragraphs, clear subheadings, and direct language. It also means updating older content that hasn’t aged well or still relies on weak or outdated phrases like “click here.” 4. Build trust with external signals Links still matter, but now it’s not just about quantity. AIEO gives weight to relevance, accuracy, and freshness. Focus on getting mentions from trusted websites in your industry or local area. That might be through partnerships, directories, press coverage, or guest posts. Reviews matter too. AI models often reference them in answers, so make sure you’re collecting them on Google, Trustpilot, and anywhere else your audience looks. 5. Strengthen your About and Contact pages Search engines and AI models use your About page to understand who you are. If it’s thin or generic, you’re missing an opportunity. Add details about your experience, qualifications, location, and values. Be specific. The same goes for your Contact page. Include your full address, map, phone number, and email. If you’ve got a physical presence, this also helps with local discovery through smart assistants and map tools. 6. Focus on topical authority AI tools favour sites that demonstrate deep knowledge, not just broad overviews. If you sell sustainable packaging (for example!), you should be the go-to source for everything from biodegradable tape to FSC certification. That means creating a cluster of related content that builds your authority on a subject. Use internal links to connect your pages. If someone lands on one blog post, they should be able to easily find related pages and get a full picture of your expertise. 7. Prioritise fast, mobile-first design AIEO rewards sites that work well across devices. Page speed, responsive design, and clean layout are essential. Many AI tools preview sites or load snippets, so your first impression might come from a single sentence or image. Make sure that snippet is sharp. Keep your site free of pop-ups, broken links, and slow-loading files. These technical issues aren’t just annoying for users - they can stop AI tools from accessing your content properly. 8. Add clear authorship signals If you’re publishing advice or insights, add real author names and bios. Include a photo, credentials, and links to their other work. AI looks for signs that content is written by a trustworthy person, not a generic brand. This matters even more in industries where trust is critical - anything to do with health, finance, legal advice, or sustainability. 9. Optimise for branded search More people are searching by name. If someone asks Siri or ChatGPT about your brand, what shows up? You should own the first page for your business name. That means publishing content under your name, setting up profiles on major platforms, and monitoring what’s already ranking. Check what appears when you search for your business on Google, YouTube, and even Reddit. If something unhelpful comes up, create new, useful content to nudge it down. 10. Track what’s working AIEO can feel like a moving target, so keep your eyes on the data. In Google Search Console, track impressions for AI-generated results like rich snippets or video cards. In Google Analytics 4, pay attention to engaged sessions and conversion paths, not just traffic volume. Also track where your brand is mentioned. Tools like BrandMentions or even simple Google Alerts can show you how your business is showing up across the web. Why it matters - and why we’re doing it At Tiny Box Company, we’re not digital experts first - we’re manufacturers, retailers, and people who care about running a business with purpose. But we’ve learned over many years that good intentions don’t get you found online. You really have to work at it. AIEO reflects a real shift in how people (and machines) discover and trust brands. In a world where your next customer might hear about you through Alexa, ChatGPT, or a voice search on the move, it’s not enough to rely on a single platform or hope your homepage does the heavy lifting.  We’ve taken the steps outlined in this guide ourselves - from tightening up our product descriptions and making our About page more personal and relevant, to checking how we appear when someone searches for us by name. Consistently providing clear, credible information wherever someone might be looking is the recipe for success. If that sounds daunting, start small. Choose one section from this guide and focus on it this month - then tackle the next. Experience tells us that AIEO is less about pleasing algorithms and more about earning trust, from both machines and the humans behind them. And for values-driven businesses like ours, that’s the goal anyway. Good luck! Tiny Box Clinic
